1.4%, according to a newly released report.

the employment growth rate in the state is the sixth highest among all states and 1%

sector are seeing an increase in jobs. Most critically, it is the energy sector
which has fueled employment figures by 6,000 to 7,000 jobs, according to the
report's estimates.

Tulsa, the state's second-largest city, posted sharp gains in average personal
income, although its employment rate was similar to the weak national average.
Oklahoma City also registered a strong rise in average personal income this year.
The report also found that with personal income totaling $128.5 billion in the first
quarter, the state ranked roughly in the middle of the country at 28th, owing much
of that income to its strong energy industry.

"Cities in Oklahoma are doing well thanks to the energy industry, and fewer credit
problems should ensure smooth sailing for the state in the coming months," adds
